Maria Świątkiewicz-Mośny

Assistant professor at the Institute of Sociology of the Jagiellonian University. Head of the Laboratory of Social Communication at the Institute of Sociology and coordinator of the specialization in social communication dedicated to master degree students of sociology. She is interested in communication processes both on an individual and group level, especially in the context of health and illness. She is fascinated by identity, the mechanisms of its construction and the impact on communication processes in various areas, including medicine (disability, illness).

Małgorzata Bała
Prof Małgorzata Bała is the head of the Systematic Reviews Unit and and acting head of Chair of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine (Jagiellonian University Medical College, Cracow, Poland). Her research activities are focused on Evidence-based Medicine, particularly on the systematic reviews and clinical practice guidelines, as well as the methodological aspects related to them. For more than 20 years she has been collaboration with Cochrane Collaboration participating in the development of the systematic reviews within the organization and promoting the use of systematic reviews findings in medical practice, currently also being the Director of Cochrane Poland, and with other international research teams focused on methodology of studies, reviews and guidelines.  

Magdalena Ślusarczyk

Sociologist and Germanist, Associate Professor in the Institute of Sociology of the Jagiellonian University, member of the Committee on Migration Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Committee on Demographic Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences. She has been involved in numerous international (e.g. Erasmus+, Norway Grants, Horizon 2020) and national (OPUS) projects. She willingly cooperates with social entities (Krakow City Hall). In her research work, she combines issues of education and migration, tries to find answers to questions such as: what are the most important debates on changes in education in the country and in the world at the moment, whether every child has equal opportunities at school, and what tools should be used to build equality at school.

Anna Prokop-Dorner

Department of Medical Sociology, Chair of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, Jagiellonian University Medical College  

Assistant professor in the Department of Medical Sociology of the Chair of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, Jagiellonian University Medical College. Sociologist and psychologist. Her research interests include social contexts of mental health, cultural determinants of health behaviors, and the application of qualitative methods in the field of health research.

Aleksandra Piłat-Kobla
Assistant in the Department of Medical Sociology, where she teaches courses in medical sociology, including social communication, sociology, and social issues. Her research interests have so far oscillated around such topics as the labour market, ageing, ageism in the labour market policy, care for older persons. Recently, she has been involved in issues related to the experience and social consequences of a pandemic.  

Natalia Ożegalska-Łukasik
Research and teaching assistant at the Institute of Intercultural Studies of the Jagiellonian University. She graduated in cultural studies with a specialization in the East Asia and sociology at the Jagiellonian University. She studied Chinese as part of government scholarships at the Beijing Foreign Studies University and Central China Normal University. As a doctoral student, she received a scholarship under the SYLFF program at the Australian National University. The area of her research interests includes, in particular, the transformation of Chinese society in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, as well as the issues of health and education. 

Aleksandra Potysz-Rzyman

Scholarship holder in the LIGHT project. Psychologist, sociologist, instructor of the Polish Scouting Association. She works in psychological clinics for children and adolescents. She is interested in neuropsychology, mental health prophylaxis and the psychology of creativity. A lover of cats, Polish crime novels and good food.

Marianna Zarychta

Sociologist, specializing in social communication. She’s focused on marketing and image research as well as evaluations. Marianna is an activist type, because she believes we are all responsible for making the world a better place. Hence why she’s  also studying Management of social change, as well as participating in a project concerning accessibility for people with disabilities. She’s a skilled leader and loves working in a team. In the light of current state of the world she believes it is crucial to think critically about health related issues. She works with children in her day to day life and is doing her best teaching them how to be independent thinkers. Marianna enjoys self-development and makes sure to use every opportunity that life gives her.
